Hello Hello!!! It's election day here (Puerto Rico) and there (USA)! Here in Puerto Rico we vote for the Governor, the Resident Commissioner, the Senate and the House of Representatives as well as for all the Mayors and their cabinet in all 78 towns. Residents of Puerto Rico as well as other territories do not have voting representation in the United States Congress, and are not entitled to electoral votes for president but we are greatly influenced by who they vote for. I did my part and it's time to wait for the results. That said, it's time to relax and enjoy my Tuesday Craft.
Starting this week I'll share a list of Christmas gifts you can make with my art printed in fabric. I am very happy that everyone who has purchased the fabric panels are very satisfied. Today I received this message: "Good Morning!!! I received the coffee fabric squares and I just wanted to say they are more beautiful in person". Every message I receive is very special to me. Knowing that my work is appreciated and enjoyed makes me smile, something we need more and more these days.
I am very pleased to show you my first Quilted Wall Hanging made with one of my larger fabric panels. The original art is a collage painting and was created just after Hurricane María. After many dark and silent nights I created four collage paintings inspired in those dark nights and this was one of those.
For this quilt I used a 18x18 inches fabric panel, a same size fabric for the back, same size of fusible fleece, scraps of matching fabric in different colors and macrame thread for the tassels. As you may know I am practicing free stitching with my new Bernina and I think it looks good, not perfect but I am happy with the result. If you are already a quilter I am sure you create wonderful things with this size of fabric panels. I may add some details in the bottom of the quilt later. You can find this and many of my art printed on fabric here.
The second project is a guest towel with my colorful Christmas tree collage. For this one I used my fabric panel which is around 9.25 x 7 inches (art area is 8.25 x 6) , a cotton linen guest towel, fusible adhesive and thread. You can find the fabric panel here.
I am really unto the Christmas season and making crafts for Christmas is my treat.
If you have ideas for other crafts with my art and are willing to share them let me know sending a message on Instagram here. Every one sharing an idea will be participating in my next giveaway. More information on the next Tuesday Craft post.
Stay Safe, Stay Calm no matter who wins any of the elections and Enjoy the Moment,
From my heart,
Elizabeth Claire
